Day 7

A relatively easy day coming up. Hilly but a shorter distance, ending up in Ironbridge. I’m looking forward to seeing the bridge which opened in 1781.

The route roughly follows the River Severn from Worcester to Ironbridge.

Random thoughts:

I’ve not thought much about work (sorry Sarah!), but I have thought a lot about my work colleagues and I know the fantastic Supporter & Digital Systems team are taking care of things in their usual professional manner.🏋️🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♂️

An e-crop

I’m not catching the train, honest.

Bewdley

The compulsory shire picture.

Ropshire

These are either lovers locks or a lot of bikes have been stolen from here.

It could be Africa. All that’s missing is a Fish Eagle perched on the dead tree.

Interesting that this tobacco pipe museum has a cemetery.

You do need legs for this one!

More than a third of the way

Made it to Ironbridge. Amazing place.

Loving the updates, Tony! That Bewdley ticket hall photo is straight out of a vintage postcard — are you sure you didn’t sneak off for a cheeky ride on the Severn Valley Railway?

Based on the number of locks on the Ropshire Bridge, the place is lacking much in the way of lovers. Possibly there has been a big migration of Ropshire lovers to Sussex, assuming their county signs are similarly uncared for. When you get to Umbria you’ll know you’ve made a southern turn in error. Hopefully the grey and white in Scotland is not rain and snow.

Trust me. As a Scot I can confirm that it’s not rain and snow – just general bleakness.

They had to kick General Bleakness out of the army in the end as he was a real killjoy for his troops
