Day 17

Onwards to Inverness as I leave the Cairngorms behind.

Milestone

Just seen my first ever red squirrel 🐿️
Ruthven Barracks

Scotland is sooo beautiful.

Rapids on the River Tromie

A Scots Pine at home.

The beautiful Loch an Eilein

The local sport is interesting.

Birch does really well here. You can tell this tree is old by the knarliness (not a real word) of the bark.

Inverness in the distance.

I have reached Inverness at the end of day 17. Tomorrow I head north west to a small town called Bonar Bridge about 50 miles away.

Great to hear that Le Hiccup is behind you and that you’re enjoying my homeland. I laughed at your milestone though – red squirrels were what I grew up with and I was a bit surprised when I saw a grey one 🤣

Also, you’ve inspired Clive and I so much we’ve now planned two long bike tours!

Amazing Tony – you have done so well. Good to hear that you are inspiring people to go on long rides. I will still be taking the train!

It looks like rain is in the distance, but Inverness is probably in there somewhere. It’s amazing looking at the map and seeing how far you’ve come! Hopefully quieter roads as you head further north
